KEROUAC / SEPTEMBER CHART

We caught up with Kerouac to get his top 10 picks for the month.

1. Kerouac – Cellar Door – forthcoming on Love Dose Records

Cellar door is the title track of my new 3 track EP out digitally and on vinyl, on the brilliant love dose. The track is eerie and euphoric and has been going down extremely well in my sets, the track has also been receiving support from both Ralph Lawson and Bicep.

2. Kerouac – Compulsion – forthcoming on Love Dose Records

Sorry to have to plug another one of my records but I’m very proud of this one. Synth driven eerie techno record with shades of tale of us/recondite/Stephan Bodzin.

3. Frankey & Sandrino – Hydrae

Wonderfully wobbly record out on one of the best in the business, Kompakt. Been going down very well early on in my recent sets.

4. Patrice Baumel – Surge

Absolute monster of a track. Accidentally overlooked this as it was the B side on his latest Kompakt release, but fuck me what a track!

5. Mano Le Tough – Energy Flow (DJ koze splasher remix)

In one word; WOW. DJ koze does it again with this absolutely mental record. From bangin techno to the glitchiest west sampling of Le Tough’s euphoric vocal, this record has it all. I love playing this and seeing the crowd lose their shit and think I’ve cocked something up during the glitchy breakdown! Have a listen and see..

6. Lapsley – Operator (DJ koze remix)

Koze at it again, this time remixing a disco classic. The variety of the man’s production makes him truly one of a kind and one of my personal favourite producers.

7. Rune Lindbaek – Hacienda

Really fun disco record. I heard DJ Harvey play this at pikes in Ibiza after we (frontline) had played the zoo and rushed back to Manchester to buy the 12 inch…I’d struggle to get this into one of my darker sets but still it’s a great record!

8. Trikk – Proto Ryhte (black version)

Probably the scariest tune of my chart. That basssss!

9. Depeche Mode – Enjoy the Silence

Finally got round to remixing this synth pop/electro classic.  Absolute anthem, stay tuned to hear my interpretation!

10. Acid Pauli- Nana

For me, this is the best tune of 2016 so far. You get lost in the beautiful collaboration of synths, percussion and that heavenly vocal. Truly beautiful stuff.
